Griffin's Nest - Our Story About

our story

Griffin’s Nest Co. is a one-woman-owned business that focuses on vintage home goods, antique-illustrated stationary, and now floral design.

“When my husband and I moved to the CSRA in 2013, I immediately started searching for an artistic outlet. I’d been outfitting our new home with thrifted and vintage treasures and eventually started selling them on Etsy as an excuse to continue shopping. While building my business I regularly attended a networking meeting with other creative entrepreneurs, and we learned and spoke together about ways to improve our separate ventures. I met some of my best friends through that group, including several wedding florists. Large weddings require many sets of hands and so I started helping my friends as “grunt work”. Over time I learned flower care and design and in 2023 started doing my own work. We still support each other to this day by helping with large events and projects.”

Griffin's Nest - Meet Griffin Blog

from griffin:

I grew up loving the outdoors. Homeschool recess consisted of gathering flowers to dry, hours spent wading through creek beds, feeling the squish of mud between my toes. My heroes were Anne of Green Gables and Laura Ingles Wilder. I learned to work hard from my dad and to appreciate the beauty around me from my mom. In college I studied art history and studio art and have always traveled anywhere at any time at every opportunity. I am a military spouse and an old soul. I always have been; I always will be. I do things the old fashioned way, even if its harder.

A friend recently described me as a “Botanical Designer”. Before diving into the world of real flowers you would still find designs of ferns and thistles and wildflowers on anything and everything related to Griffin’s Nest. Redesigning the landscaping in my own yard has been my pet project while helping others bring their homes and businesses to life with florals brings joy to my soul.

Philippians 4:8 says, “Whatever is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, and admirable - if anything is excellent or praiseworthy - think about such things.” My aim is to take the beauty of the world around us and find ways to remind myself and others to appreciate what we have, to slow down and see the beauty of what is at our fingertips.
