1950's Pink Jacket with Fur Collar

1950's Pink Jacket with Fur Collar

This vintage pink jacket is probably from the 19650's and is truly unique with its scalloped pink fabric, embroidered interior, and fur collar. The fur collar snaps on securely but can be removed (probably for cleaning or so that the collar can be worn on its own). There is a hook-and-eye clasp on the jacket at the ends of the collar to close it at the front across the chest.

The outside of the jacket has beautiful vintage-light-pink ribbons sewn on in a scalloped pattern, giving it a visual and tactile texture. The inside of the jacket is a similar light pink with a floral vine and leave pattern machine-embroidered on it. I'm not positive what type of fur is used for the collar but it's a lovely tan color that pairs nicely with the pink of the jacket.

There are elements of both man production (plastic threads used in the making of the textured fabric), and customization by hand (the fur collar and row of snaps appear to have been sewn on by hand). It is in reasonable vintage condition with some discoloration across the outer pink fabric as a whole and some at the cuffs from being worn. Some of the threads, primarily plastic, have come undone so there are a few places where the scalloped pattern has loosened. There are a couple of small stains on the inside. The fur itself is in good condition and does not appear to be worn or patchy at all.
