This antique textbook is titled "Foundations of Latin" and has a copyright date of 1903. It was probably printed in 1907 however as there's a note in the front page by the holder of the copyright that is dated "March, 1907". Either way, it is a fabulous example of an antique book, both in style and subject. Latin was a much more common class for children 100+ years ago and this one was clearly used a lot. In addition to notes and some scribbles, there are some unique sketches of a lady inside the front and back covers. The one in the front cover is of a lady with a high neck dress and a huge hat with a large bow on it, in true, early 20th century fashion.

In addition to the sketches there are some notes in the cover as well as a name and address, perhaps of one of the owners of the book. There are other exercises from the book that the student(s) decided to do on the pages of the book instead of on a separate piece of paper.

It has lots of antique character from the notes to the fact that it does look as old as it is. The binding is coming apart some as the book has clearly been used a lot over the years. On the outside of the binding, faded but in gold, it says:
